Short & Chic: A Special Occasion Style for Pixie Cuts

Ultra-short just got ultra-chic.

Think ultra-short hair is boring? Think again. Any woman who rocks a pixie cut will tell you that short hair is just as versatile as longer locks, especially when your pixie has some length up top. We're loving this short and chic hairstyle for pixie cuts. Blending glamour and edge, this style is perfect for a special occasion or even for a night out with the girls.

What You'll Need

To create this style at home, you'll first need to make sure you have a little bit of length at the top of your pixie cut-think 4-5 inches. You'll also need a curling iron or wand with a 1/2- to 1-inch barrel and a few styling products to give the look control, shine, and staying power.

Step 1: Perfect Your Part

First, part your hair-on either side of your head-in a deep-side part, just above the arch of your eyebrow, and take the part back about halfway.

Step 2: Bring the Heat

Then, with your curling iron or wand, curl your hair in small sections, alternating between curling away and towards your face-this will help give the look more movement and volume.

Step 3: Take Control

After you've curled your hair and the curls have all cooled, work a small amount of wax into a natural bristle paddle brush and comb your waves into place. We recommend Tecni.ART Lumi.Contrôle. This nourishing, defining wax will help give you a bit more control and a little shine to your style.

Step 4: Lock in Place

Finally, finish by spritzing a small amount of dry shampoo for texture-like Tecni.ART Fresh Dust-and a medium-hold hairspray-like Tecni.ART Infinium 3-to keep your style in place and keep frizz at bay.
