From family get-togethers to office gatherings to gift exchange dinners with your best girls, the holiday party season is in full swing! While the perfect dress is a plus, having a killer hairstyle to pair with it is key. If you're hoping to style your locks into a gorgeous holiday party-worthy updo, you're in luck! We're sharing two popular looks for you to choose from: the braided crown and the romantic bun.
The Braided Crown
Grecian-inspired braided crowns are perfect for the upcoming holiday season. It is the ultimate soft and feminine style that goes beautifully with flowing fabrics and luxurious lace. To style, you'll want to start by creating a French braid behind one of your ears which you will work across the top toward the other ear. Feed the front of your hairline into the back as you are braiding. For a truly special vibe, leave out a few face-framing pieces and curl them with a small-barrel wand.
If you can't get the hang of braiding-let's be honest it's not always the easiest styling technique-consider making a visit to your local L'Oréal Professionnel salon to have an expert create the style for you. "There's something to be said about going into the salon and getting your hair done," says Amit Abraham, New York City hairdresser and L'Oréal Professionnel Artist. "Not only will it look better, but you'll feel better...pampered even."
The Romantic Bun
If you're looking for a more romantic vibe, consider tying the knot...with your hair that is. Depending on the vibe of your event, a bun can be worn high in a top knot style or low at the nape of your neck. Whether you're going out with your girlfriends or you have a classy soiree, we love a bun paired with a gorgeous accessory. Headbands made a major comeback this year and during the holiday season a jeweled version reigns supreme, since it has the ability to elevate any look from drab to fab in an instant! To style your romantic bejeweled bun, create a middle part and loosely tie back the length into a bun anywhere from below the base of your crown to above the nape of your neck. Gently tug on the face framing area to loosen, but be careful not to pull it out from the bun. When you're ready, place the headband just behind the loosened section and voila!
