Turn up the volume!

A surefire way to make a statement when you walk in the room? A fierce, high-volume hairstyle! Not only can these gorgeous styles add extra oomph to flat, lifeless strands, many of them can be worn both day and night. Ready to take your hair to new heights? From '60s-inspired beehives to textured roots, we're sharing three of our favorite high-volume hairstyles-as seen on the runway-that will unapologetically grab your attention.

The retro beehive

When it comes to hair that stands seriously tall, few styles are as eye-catching as the beehive. Instead of pulling all of your hair back, put a contemporary spin on the iconic '60s style by opting for a half-up half-down look.

To help minimize the backcombing and teasing required to achieve a beehive, use a texturizing powder, like L'Oreal Professionnel Tecni.Art True Grip, at the roots for an exaggerated root lift. Next, gather a large chunk of hair at the crown, gently teasing the under-layers for extra height. Pin the section to the back of your head.

Voluminous roots

Who said high-volume hair is only meant for a night out on the town? Full, voluminous locks can turn heads during the daytime as well. If poufs and beehives aren't your thing, perhaps a subtler look with volume at the roots is what you're looking for.

For extra volume, reach for a texturizing powder or dry shampoo, like L'Oreal Professionnel Tecni.Art Fresh Dust. Applying it to the roots, spraying at least six inches away from the scalp and massaging for full absorption. Whether you decide to curl your locks or keep them straight, the key is to leave the ends smooth and the roots a bit textured and messy.

Rocker chic

Give your mid-length hair a cool-girl, rocker-chic vibe with a piecey, layered voluminous style. The look is meant to resemble bedhead but with a little more of a refined edge.

Start by applying a dry texturizing spray onto your roots, using your hands to scrunch the hair at the top to create volume. Next, create a heavy-side part and sweep a large section of hair across your forehead. (P.S.-If you're growing out your bangs, this style can look A+!) Tousle your hair to create additional texture and finish off with hairspray to keep the style in place. Lastly, pull it all together with smoldering smoky eye makeup. Leather jacket, optional.
