Which wedding hairstyle wins?
Beach weddings call for beautiful hair and our two favorite, go-to styles-for brides and wedding guests alike-are chic chignons and bohemian waves. Can't decide which style is right for you? We break down the battle of the bridal styles, below.
The Look: A Chic Chignon
Who it's for: If you're a girl who likes a style that stays in place, a chic chignon is for you. This polished style is timeless, utterly romantic, and looks perfect under a flowing veil.
Get the look: To start, distribute a volumizing mousse through your hair and blow dry through with a large boar bristle brush. Tease the crown to your desired height and then using a comb, gently smooth hair all the way back. For hair prone to flyaways, spray the comb with a hairspray first. Secure your length into a low ponytail. With a ½ inch barrel curling iron, curl the length of the ponytail in sections and spray with a hairspray. Wrap the sections loosely around the base of the ponytail and pin with bobby pins.
The Look: Bohemian Waves
Who it's for: The quintessential signature style for laid-back, effortless girls, bohemian waves are ideal for beach weddings and look amazing on both brides and guests. These waves are intentionally messy so a little beach breeze just makes them look that much better!
Get the Look: Start styling by first blow drying your hair straight, use a heat protectant and with nourishing oils so your hair stays soft and shiny. Next, reach for a 1-inch curling wand and starting at the bottom of your hair wrap 1-inch sections of hair around the barrel, leaving out 1-2 inches at the bottom to ensure they stay straight and only curling from the top of the ear, down. Once your hair has been curled and cooled, rake through with your fingers and spray a texturizing spray through locks to lock in your style.
