April showers may mean May flowers, but they also mean unruly hair. Between the humidity in the air and the winds, your style can go from fabulous to a total frizz-fest in a matter of minutes. But, with a few tricks of the trade, you can show those rainy days who's boss. No matter your hair texture, you can take matters into your own hands with one of the three hairstyles for rainy days, below.
Low Messy Bun
Instead of fighting Mother Nature, work with her a little bit and rock an intentionally messy style. Spritz your hair with a texturizing spray and then pull it back with your fingers. Leaving a few face framing pieces out, secure a messy bun at the nape of your neck. Spray your style with a little hairspray for some shine.
Channel your inner Grecian goddess with this twisted style that camouflages frizz and hides unruly strands. To style, twist random sections of hair and secure with bobby pins at the middle and ends of the twist, until all of your hair is pinned up. The beauty of this style is that the twists don't have to have a rhyme or reason, which is why it's perfect for a rainy day when hair can't be overly-controlled. Spray with some hairspray to keep things in place and add a few barrettes for an extra sense of style.
Braided Low Ponytail
Braids are great for rainy days and this one is no exception. To start, part your hair in the middle and then brush it back into a low ponytail, securing at the nape of your neck. From there, braid the length of your ponytail-choose from a classic three-strand, fishtail, or any other variation-and secure with a small hair-colored elastic.
