5 Healthy Hair Resolutions for 2017

It's never too late!

It's never too late to start a new resolution and with the New Year just a few weeks in, now's as good of a time as any! 1. Treat Wet Hair With TLC

Wet hair is more prone to breakage and damage which is why treating it with a gentle touch is key if you want it to look its best once its dry. In the shower, shampoo your hair lightly-being careful not to rub and scratch at your roots. After you condition, rinse, and get ready to dry, use a microfiber towel and gently blot the excess water from your strands-never rub which can lead to breakage and frizz. As for combing and brushing, only use wide-tooth combs or brushes specifically made for wet hair to minimize tugging and tearing. Finally, try to never go to sleep with wet strands-this can lead to more breakage and tangles-but if you must use a protective style like a loose braid or a bun.

2. Only Use Products for Your Hair Type and Texture

Have thick curly hair? Reaching for a volumizing shampoo likely isn't going to help your strands look their best. Instead find products that have been formulated with your specific hair type in mind and become loyal to them. For example, fine hair benefits from volumizing products-as they help to give locks a little boost-while coarse hair benefits from hydrating haircare products meant to smooth and tame. Finally, if your hair is color-treated be sure to only use products that won't strip your strands of your new hue.

3. Pencil in a Pampering Session
