Crown filters have been a hot trend on social media, but who says you need to take a selfie in order to rock these princess-like accessories? Thanks to the runways, we just got the inspiration we need to rock this look IRL-and yes, it's still very worthy of a selfie!

It's official, the crown is this year's headband. Worn with both cascading curls or as the finishing touch to a high and tight top knot, a crown can instantly elevate your look from girl-next-store to ultra-glam. On the Spring/Summer 2017 runways, the look was paired with long crocheted dresses and chic tailored jackets slung over the shoulders. While you can rock a natural flower crown for a laid back, ethereal vibe, we love the way the ornate metallic crowns look with all of winter's most beautiful hairstyles-like the look above.
To style this runway-worthy look at home, you'll want to start with slightly dirty hair. One of our favorite reasons to rock a crown is because it's perfect for hiding next-day hair. If you prefer to style your hair freshly washed, reach for a texturizing spray that will add the grit that next-day hair has in seconds. Once your base is set, create a middle part. Then, use your hands to gather and pull your hair back into a high ponytail at the base of your crown. Next, wrap the length of your ponytail around the base and secure with bobby pins or another hair elastic. Gently tug your hair from the bun without loosening it completely and pull a few face-framing pieces for a laid back look.
If you want your styling to having extra staying power, reach for a strong-hold hairspray and give your hair a few spritzes for good measure. As a final step, place your crown slightly past your ears to soften the look.
To finish, reach for your favorite pair of earrings, ideally a pair that complements your crown of choice!
